The Week Ahead 1 October 2012

A choice on Tuesday. Steep Street Hills OR a Running Form session: as a refresher for those who've already done a session; or equally for those who didn't get to one of the sessions last month and would like to learn what all the fuss is about.

And more choice on Thursday. 5, 6 or 7 miles on the Boughspring runs. And don't forget your reflective top.

Then on Sunday morning the first of the season's Leisure Centre League cross-country races at Pontypool Park. The same deal as usual: just turn up in your club gear, no entry fee or forms, 11.00 start.

BUT if it's your first ever LCL race - road or cross-country - you must give your name and date of birth to Syd. He'll allocate you a unique number, but here's the difference from now on: you don't have to wear your number on your vest. Instead you'll be given a ticket with your position on it as you cross the finish line. This has to be handed to your Team Captain who'll record your position on the finish sheet.

Meet at 9.45 by the LC steps to share cars.

  1. If I don't have to wear my number on my vest, is there a preferred place where I should wear it?

  2. Coaches have encouraged us in the past on Tuesday night training sessions to run using 'good running form' and to try to maintain it even when we are tired. If you are not sure what your good running form should be like - this session is for you! Come along and see what you think. It doesn't matter if we are a group of one or ten.
