Fairwater won the men’s before Griffithstown and Chepstow.
Well done to all competitors, and thanks to the helpful, encouraging marshals.

A very special race on Thursday – our Tintern Trot organised by Geoff Cram who says:“As usual this race provides entry-on-the-day only. The cost is £7 per runner.

And finally on Saturday our annual trip to the seaside beckons – Charmouth, its race and fun run, the barbecue and drinks, and the beach games. Not too late to put your name down. Only £10, £5 for youngsters. All you can eat and drink and fun for all ages. Coach leaves 9.30.

Chepstow provided four of the 75 teams and a drink station/road crossing. Our Women’s team gained second place to TeamBath in their category. I don’t have the men’s winners to hand, but we think that our men were fourth.
Congrats to Vanessa Lawson who won a bottle of bubbly for first woman on stage 6, and Rob Gordon was second on stage 2 for the second year running.
Well done all the first-timers for Chepstow, and a big thanks to the team captains and the helpers on the drink station.

The second Rose Inn on Tuesday, incorporating the first of the four East Wales Championship races. If you’re running any of the Rose Inn series, don’t forget to offer your help to Andy Meek-Welsh for at least one of the races. If we don’t get help there’ll be no races to take part in.
The Gloucestershire Way is Thursday’s run, followed by CURRY NIGHT down ‘Spoons.
And our friends at Thornbury RC will be delighted to see any Harriers at Sunday’s Oldbury Fun Run, a charity race for a good cause. 11am start over at the Anchor, Oldbury-on-Severn, where we had our Mob Match last week.

Another away week beckons to us travelling Harriers.
Come to the delightful Parc Penallta on Tuesday for the second LCL race. Meet at the LC at 5.45, or find your way to CF82 7GN. It’s near Ystrad Mynach and Hengoed. There’s a link to the Google Map on the ‘Club Only Events/LCL Road’ page.
And the long-awaited Mob Match v Thornbury will be upon us on Thursday. Come a bit early – 6.30 – to the LC for the drive across to Oldbury-on-Severn. You’ll have seen the Club email with more details. The post-race refreshments sound really good...

And here are the overall results for the series:
Provisional results were announced on the night, and there were a few changes to those. My apologies to those who thought were in 2nd and 3rd place as they are actually a couple of places lower. oops...
Syd is still the overall winner, but he is joint with Niki, with 126 points. Gerry is 3rd with 124. Well done all!! The top 8 finished within 7 point of each other, so it was very close.
Here is a list of everyone's best times, for extra interest:
My thanks to James for doing the sums, to Brenda for marking out every race, and to all the people who helped and supported at each event. I could not have done it without you!! Also thank you to the 72 Harriers and friends who came and ran at least one of the races.
Look forward to 2012 already!

Highest scorer of the day was a local who nobody knew – an M50 sporting an OMM top who arrived late then cleared the board. Must encourage him to join the Harriers – we could do with some more fast M50s.
Matthew L managed to get an often empty push chair round an obstacle course whilst Reuben and Seth ran ahead faster when they learned of a possible prize, which they won. After the race Coachy led the way in the cake eating contest, winning hands down (or full). Many thanks to Lou, Rob and Vanessa for helping to clear up afterwards.
