Wow – a Tuesday without a race and a chance to get some training in. It’s the last week of Mark Harvey’s reign as Coach of the Month, and he wants us to do some sharp 400’s. 12 in total in three sets.
Then on Thursday Mark has set up a Hash Run, leaving from the Piercefield Hotel just after 7. Free drink and food to everyone who gets to the mystery destination. It’s about 5 miles and fairly flat so there’s a good chance of getting there before nightfall. So, pretty boring after the last one Mark (and Lou) put on…
The next race in Sue’s Fell Race series is a classic horseshoe run – yes it’s all runnable unlike that precipitous thing that the Chief Coach put on in April. Waun Fach is about 7 miles with some delightful ridge running in the second half and a short sharp finish up to a wee castle.
Starts at 2pm at Pengenffordd between Crickhowell and Talgarth (same as Mynydd Troed) only £2.50, entry on day, and organized by Sue herself (aided by Gerry). It’s an A/Medium race so you do need to wear/carry a windproof top and bottoms, map, compass and whistle, but we’re all getting used to that now. It’s an hour and a quarter’s journey so we need to leave Chepstow by noon.
And then on Sunday it’s one of Chepstow Harriers’ renowned races, the Magor Marsh 10k, organized by Bill Bewg and his team. By now you’ll be signed up to run and/or help. Good luck and fine weather to all!
