The Chocolate Brownie Bike Ride

Details for Wednesday's timed training bike ride are below:

Sign up on start list at top car park of Leisure Centre from 6.45pm.  First rider off at 7.15pm. Others to follow at 30 second intervals.

The start is just over the Racecourse roundabout on the Itton road so once you have signed up for a start time you can head to the grass patch by the Racecourse gates to meet Tom Gibbs who will be timing the start.

The route will be marked by two left hand signs only, one just before Devauden the other on the Usk road after the descent from Devauden.  The finish will be by the entrance to Barnett Woods.  Start and finish will be marked by flour lines.

Please bring your helmet and some cake to be shared after the ride (the cake, not the helmet).  Also ensure you are self-sufficient regarding puncture repair kit and other mechanical matters.

It's 12.9 miles as measured on my bike computer: 4 miles up and 8.9 miles down.  Some of the descent is fast so please take care. The roads will not be closed.

No drafting please.

Any questions please let me know.  After the ride we can adjourn to a local bike friendly hostelry (suggestions welcome)
